Hello!

My name is Noor Mendonck and I was born in 1998, that makes me 22 years old at the moment.

I chose to look for a field of study where I can learn how to help minors. I found this at the United Colleges Leuven-Limburg (UCLL), here they offer Child & youth studies. For me to be able to help others, I had to build up experiences. I volunteer a lot in my free time and my studies even offered a guided internships to learn more.

Every year I did my internship, but it's the last one in my senior year that really had the most impact on me. I was honored to find out I could work with Child Action Lanka in Sri Lanka. I went to the Kilinochchi community center where I got to know the residents and the children.

Here I learned about the war that took place until 2009. Because 2009 is not that long ago I was very interested and motivated to reasearch possible consequences. In this research I found out it was important for children to develop a stable identity and loads of resilience. The age that's most sensitive to this appeared to be 12 to 14 years.

On this website you will find fun ways to stimulate a child's resilience. Don't be afraid to step up and please do try this at home! You don't need a fancy certificate to use this workshops, just the motivation and care for the children you will be working with.

Have loads of fun and even though it's developed for children, believe me it's fun and useful for adults to! All the activities are tested and approved by me.
